Agility Ability

Bokeh went to his first Agility Ability session a few weeks ago. He loves kids and has a lot of energy so we though this would be perfect for him. Bokeh is working with autistic children who teach him agility. It is a really great program to get the kids up, moving, speaking and involved with the dogs. Bokeh did GREAT his first time there. He was paired with with adorable Sophia. She loved Bokeh and he loved the popcorn the kids feed as treats. After the session was over they asked Jeremy to do a disc dog demo with Bokeh. The kids loved it and each got to take a turn throwing the disc to Bokeh.

The Girls

Bokeh's fan club (aka "the girls") came over the other night to have dinner with us. They wanted to play frisbee with Bokeh but said there was too much poop in the yard (guess that is what happens when your mom tries to work, is on mandatory OT at work, help a rescue and have 2 of us in dog sports). Anyhoo...mom said well why don't you clean some of it and the girls wanted to know how and we showed them the pooper scooper. Mom offered to give them some green papers and oh my, was this some of the best green papers she spent. The girls were SO funny trying to clean up the poop in the yard. Here they are, check it out and have a good giggle.

Highschool Demo

Dad was invited out to a local high school to do a disc dog demo with Bokeh. Mom didn't get to go so our friend recorded it for her. When watching it she was cracking up at the commentary from the kids. Turn up the volume. :)

ps. Don't mind Bokeh taking a poop at the end BOL

First Swim

The weather has been so nice. Dad was hired to take photos of a cute sheltie named Holly. We were at the park and after the photo shoot we went down by the pond. I got to take my first swim of the season. I love playing in the water, it is so much fun.

First I have to take a good sniff to check out the area

Then I jump right in

So much fun retrieving toys

Mom said they will take Bokeh with us next time so he can swim to

Weimaraner Wednesday

More donations are rolling in. We are so pleased that so many people have been so kind to send us donations. First up, The White Dog Army sent us this great Drinkwell Original Pet Fountain. I bet the Weims will love drinking fresh water for this fountain.

Photobucket

Next we have mom's Aunt Lois donated a beautiful quilt she made.

Next up was a complete shocker to us. Tucker Tells All sent us a tshirt and 2 collars. We didn't want to open the shirt but it says "My life is arranged soley by the the comfort of my dog" and 2 collars that are 100% rescue. What a great donation, thanks so much Tucker!
Photobucket

Our friends over at Canadie also donated a box of samples to put in the bags we will be passing out to our guests who attend.
Photobucket

and last but not least we received a bag full of these jerky treats. They look good enough for the humans to eat. They are called Ruff Sticks. Yummy!
Photobucket

I don't think I have shared our flier for Weim and Cheese either. This is the flier telling all about our event. I hope any of my blog friends in the area might consider coming. You don't have to have a Weimaraner to attend, it is great fun with great dog people. Please feel free to share on your blogs. Actually...mom has decided that anyone that shares on their blog AND gets a donation sent over to our house for the event we will enter you in a contest for a pressie of some sort or a donation to a local charity of your choice. If people would like to donate they can email us at: SagiraK9 AT Gmail DOT com for our mailing address. Donations can be ANYTHING that is new or homemade that we can auction off. It doesn't have to be dog related at all. We can use gift cards in any amount, toys, beds, food, treats, quilts, blankets, anything you make. Donations are also tax deductible since the rescue is a non-profit and I can give you our 501 number when you send the donation. Frankie, Tucker and White Dog Army you all will already be entered since you have already sent donations for the event.

Anyone in Missouri?

I just found out that mom and dad are taking Bokeh and I all the way to Missouri. Any of my blog friends live near the Purina Farms Event Center? I guess mini Australian Shepherd nationals are being held in Missouri. Dad got hired to do the action photography for nationals. Would love to meet some of my blog friends in the area. Let me know!

Columbus Cranes

There is a new sport in town! It is called Ultimate Frisbee and Columbus, Ohio has a new team called the Columbus Cranes. They had their inaugural game this past weekend. Guess who got invited to do the half time show? Yep... our disc dog club, Southern Ohio Flying K9's. It was cold and rainy so not many people showed up for the game but the fans that were there were some true fans.

Here is video of all of us doing toss and fetch. Watch Bokeh's second catch and listen to the crowd cheer when he catches it. That gave mom goosebumps she said.

and here is Bokeh and dad doing their freestyle moves for the crowd

It was a lot of fun and we hope to be invited back to do another half time show soon.

Hunting for some Easter Eggs

Mom got behind on my posting and realized we forgot to tell you about my hunt for some Easter Eggs. After the trial a few weekends ago mom and dad took me to Pet People on our way home. They were having an Easter Egg hunt and some of the eggs had prizes in them.

Looking for some eggs while taking in all the good smells

Photobucket

I sure don't see any eggs down here, mom and dad, do you see any eggs?

Photobucket

I finally found an egg and it was a purple one (my mom's favorite color).

Photobucket

Okay, dad, I think that is the egg I want. When we went to checkout to buy Bokeh a new collar and my egg had a 25% off coupon. YIPEE!

Photobucket

Mom thinks it is a waste to buy Bokeh collars, you can't see them with all his fur...but whatever makes dad happy.

Weimaraner Wednesday

More donations have been rolling in for the 5th Annual Weim and Cheese event. Momster worked on a really big one. She actually asked BISSELL, Inc. to donate and they agreed. They sent a sweeper to our house FAST! It is a Lift-Off Multi cyclonic Pet Machine sweeper.

Photobucket

This is also one of mom's favorite donations. This lady at agility trials has a business called FLEECY PAWS. Well, she makes really nice leashes. Mom saw one that someone ordered at the Zanesville trial that had Weimaraners on it. Mom talked to the owner and found out that she can make a leash with your OWN photos on it. How stinkin cool is that? You will have one of a kind leash and they are under $40. Mom is actually ordering me one with MY pics on it. Can't wait to see how it turns out. But anyway...anyone wanting some nice slip leads for agility, check out Fleecy Paws and let them know Louisville Weimaraner Rescue sent you.

Photobucket

Half Price Books also donated a $20 gift card as well. This was their second year donating, so nice of them.

Also, some of you asked last time about the Dublin Dog donation that are "NO STINK" collars. You can check them out over HERE. They are made of special material that doesn't absorb water. Therefore, they don't harbor bacteria and bad odors like some collars do. We love Dublin Dog and use them ourselves. Check them out and let them know Louisville Weimaraner Rescue sent you.

Nursing Home Demo

Our training club did a demo at a nursing home. Mom let me go along because we were going to have our Easter pictures taken after the demo. I normally don't go anymore because I am pretty scared. After I was at the hospital doing my therapy dog visit when I was 1 year old someone came running out of the room and it really scared me. Now I want nothing to do with anything therapy related. But I did pretty good at the nursing home. I barked a little when we first arrived but I saw it wasn't that bad.

- sorry the pictures are not that good. Used mom's cheap point and shoot
