Time for Agility!

Sagira begins her level 2 agility class tonight. Anxious to see how she does in the more advanced classes. Wish us luck!

Here is a video of Sagira from this past weekend. She gets the "crazies" when she gets wet and you towel her off.

We also had her pool out for her. She likes to jump and play in the water.

Enjoyed the weekend

Wow, what a beautiful weekend we had here in Columbus. Was in the 80s all weekend with a nice breeze blowing through. Opened the windows and got some fresh air in the house finally.

Saturday we took Sagira to Doctor's West for a therapy dog visit. She has been pretty nevous at the hospital so after speaking to our director we were told to just keep her visits very short and only visit in the ER to make it fun for her. She did pretty good but did bark once when the sliding door opened and scared her. Other than that she did good. People there enjoyed seeing her.

After that we took Sagira and Samick to the library Tailwagging Tutors event and let the kids read to them. Since the weather was so nice only a few kids showed up. But Sam enjoyed the stories. Sagira on the other hand fell asleep (bad Sagira, haha).

After that we came home and then decided to take Harley, Sagira and Starr to the dog park. Harley is 11 and he enjoys playing fetch but running is hard on his joints so swimming is better. He got in his first swim in the season and loved it.

Where we going? huh? huh? Huh?

Another busy week

Wow, where has the time gone? So Tuesday evening we took Sagira and Starr to Petsmart for the "Pet Party". It was nice. They gave you a free digital photo of your dog in a frame, a goodie bag and played musical sit. Musical sit is where you walk the dog around and when the music stops you have to make the dog sit. Last dog to sit it out, etc. So we entered both Sagira and Starr in the contest. We figured Sagira had a good shot since this is what she is trained to do. When we stop walking, she sits. So we were playing and it comes down to Sagira, Starr and another guy with his dog. This guy was totally cheating though. He was pushing his dogs butt down to make them sit and he was so proud of himself that his dog was sitting and getting everyone out. So in my opinion Starr and Sagira should have won, but they had this guy and Sagira as a tie. But Sagira sat on her own so she wins! We got a $5 gift card to Petsmart for winning.

Jeremy got in a car accident on Wednesday. He got hit by a dump truck. Luckily he is okay and only damaged the car.

Sagira is going on a therapy dog visit tomorrow to the hospital ER and then to the library to let the kids read to her again.

Supposed to be beautiful out so I am sure there will be a dog park visit sometime this weekend.

Busy weekend

We had a busy weekend. We first started out Saturday by taking our nieces, Makaili and Makenzie with us to hunt Easter eggs for the dogs again. They had fun last time and wanted to go again.

Photobucket

The girls had a lot of fun again this time and got the dogs tons of goodies. We got rawhides, toys, food, treats, coupon for engraved tag at a local pet store and coupons for dog food. Well worth the donation we spent to do the egg hunt.

After that we headed to visit Grandpa and my parents in Marblehead. It is about 2.5 hours away from us. We packed up all four dogs and off we went. They were really good in the car. Samick was behind the passenger seat, Sagira and Starr were in the middle and Harley was behind me in the drivers seat. Good thing Sagira is small. :)

Samick's first visit

Samick went on his first hospital visit last night. He did such a good job. I had no doubt. His tail was wagging the entire time. He absolutely loved all the attention he received and was giving out kisses to anyone who wanted one.

Picture if of us with Sam and one of the directors at the hospital. She has been so nice to us and wanted to come meet Sam.

I also found out that my Grandpa had to be admitted back into the hospital before we went with Sam on his visit. I wiped my tears and went there to help people out. My Grandpa isn't doing very well. There is nothing more they can do for him. His heart is in very bad shape and is very weak. He is also very confused now. They are doing a CT scan on his brain today to see if he has had some mini strokes. I hope they figure out what is causing his confusion. He never had problems with his brain before this.

Happy Easter

Lazy day for once. Of course Starr couldn't let us sleep in. She had to sit and stare at me and then she started hitting me with her paw, like come on mom get up already.

So..woke up and opened up the blinds in the living room. The girls love it when I do that for them. They both soak up the sun.

Starr (you can actually see the color of her eyes, they didn't turn out red for once)

And the prize goes to....

Us! We actually won one of the baskets from the raffle at CHA animal shelter during the Easter egg hunt. We picked up the basket tonight. Had treats in it, a really big blanket with cute dogs all over it and a long sleeve shirt for CHA.

Of course Starr had to be the first one to inspect it.

She did it!

Sagira passed her Level 1 agility test and is moving on to Level 2 agility classes in 2 weeks as long as we get in the lottery and make it into the class.

This is her first run through...a little rocky but she still did good.

And this run was much better....

Graduation Night!

Sagira graduates from her level 1 agility class in a few hours. Anxious to see how she does in level 2. Check back for pictures tomorrow.

Yesterday was a bad day. Starr got into some chicken wings the night before. So we have been keeping a close eye on her to make sure they go through her system okay.
And of course some drama, always on the best of days, right? :)

But today is a new day and we are marching on... :)

Izzy went home

Our foster puppy, Izzy went to her new home on Friday night. She will be living with a mom, dad and 2 human brothers. I think she will do good there. Going to take them getting used to a dog because I don't think they have had one before. But she was a good puppy so I can't imagine she will give them to much trouble.

Took Starr and Sagira to the dog park today and met up with Nicole and Zoey. Was a beautiful day out for it (Sunny and 66).

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we got up and took Sagira and Starr to an Easter Egg hunt for CHA Animal Shelter. We decided to take our nieces this year to be the egg grabbers. Makaili and Makenzi did a GREAT job grabbing eggs for the dogs. We had a FULL bag by the time they were done. They had a good time. We got some prizes and lots of dog treats from all the eggs.

After we were done hunting down all the eggs we went in and had their picture taken with the Easter bunny. (that picture will be in next week).

The new foster sister

We just picked up a new foster last night for our mixed breed rescue group. She is a 3 month old min pin mix so they say. She is a good puppy. Very calm, scared of her own shadow though.

She wants to be held all the time. My husband told her no so she climbed up on the couch and got in his arms anyway.
